Interest-Based Advertising and Your Choices
This section applies to Casa de Pico, a Bazaar del Mundo, Inc. restaurant, and to casadepico.com ("we," "us," "our").
How interest-based advertising works. We work with third-party advertising, analytics and social media companies to show ads for our restaurants and shops and to measure how well those ads work. These include companies that place ads on websites, mobile apps and streaming (connected) TV. When you visit our websites, these companies may use cookies, pixels (also called tags or web beacons), and similar technologies to collect information such as the pages you view, the date and time of your visit, your browser and device type, your IP address, and cookie or device identifiers.
Third parties may place cookies on users' browsers for targeted advertising purposes. Third parties may use this data to target digital advertising on other sites and networks based on your activity.
Cookie and non-cookie technologies, across devices. We and these third parties may use both cookie and non-cookie technologies, such as pixels, device identifiers, mobile advertising identifiers and IP addresses, to deliver interest-based advertising, meaning ads chosen based on your activity on our websites and elsewhere. This may happen across the different browsers and devices you use, including computers, phones, tablets and connected TVs, when those browsers and devices can be associated with each other (for example, because they share the same home network).
Third-party use. Information collected by these third parties is governed by their own privacy policies. They may combine it with information they collect from other websites and services to serve and measure ads for us and for other advertisers.
Your choices.
• Opt out of interest-based ads from participating companies: visit the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page at https://optout.networkadvertising.org/ and the Digital Advertising Alliance choices page at https://www.aboutads.info/choices. Opt-outs are stored in a cookie on the browser and device you use. If you use a different browser or device, or clear your cookies, you will need to opt out again. Opting out does not stop all ads. You may still see ads, but they will be less tailored to your interests.
• Browser cookie controls: most web browsers let you view, block and delete cookies, including third-party cookies, under their privacy or security settings. If you block or delete cookies, some features of our websites (such as online ordering or the waitlist) may not work as expected.
• Mobile device advertising settings: on Android devices, go to Settings > Privacy > Ads (on some devices, Settings > Google > Ads) and choose "Reset advertising ID" or "Delete advertising ID." On iPhone and iPad, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking and turn off "Allow Apps to Request to Track"; you can also turn off Personalized Ads under Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising. For app-based choices from participating companies, you can use the DAA's AppChoices tool (https://youradchoices.com/appchoices).
• Smart TVs and streaming devices: many connected TVs and streaming devices have their own advertising settings that let you reset or limit the device's advertising identifier or turn off personalized ads. Check the privacy or advertising settings on your device.
• Opting out of data collection by us: you can unsubscribe from our marketing emails using the link in any email, and reply STOP to opt out of text messages. To ask about, access or delete the personal information we hold, contact us using the information in the "How to Contact Us" section of this policy.
Do Not Track. Some browsers send "Do Not Track" signals. There is no common industry standard for how websites should respond to these signals, and our websites do not currently respond to them. You can use the choices described above to limit interest-based advertising.
State privacy rights. Depending on where you live, interest-based advertising may be treated as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under state privacy laws, and you may have the right to opt out. To make a request, contact us using the information in the "How to Contact Us" section of this policy.
